Saddle

My husband and I are looking to buy our first saddle. We don't know much about them, but I found this one on Craig's List. If you know saddle's, let me know what you think............

The price is $200 which seems pretty good considering the average to buy one new was about $1000-$1200.
This is the side view....

This is the top view.

And this is the underside.

Let me know what you think..........

What brand is it? Make certain that it is at least made in the USA. That is extremely important.

What are you going to be doing with the saddle. Cutting, trail riding, roping...??

Feel free to email me. :-)

will it fit the horse you want to use it on well ? Some horses have high withers or round shoulders and get saddle sores from an improper fitting saddle. Also, how well does if fit the rider ? Can you give it a test drive ?? lol...You would not buy a car without a test drive . Good luck to ypu.... Doris

We did buy the saddle. It is working very well so far. I don't know too much about it, but my husband works on a cattle ranch and it works for him. We will probably get something better next time, but this is working great for now.

And Marci, your'e always welcome to come out and ride. Yee Haw!!

Hello - I know very little about American saddles and cannot comment... but as a matter of coincidence, I just posted a pic and explanation of an Australian saddle on my blog. Stumbled over from Pioneer Woman... nice checking out your blog!
